Faster or Farther?....BOTH!

I've needed to get a semi-long ride in now for a few weeks and after last weeks TOTAL miledge wasn't even 100 miles (we are averging 108 per day on our trip) I felt like I needed to put some miles in yesterday. Tony has been on vacation so he couldn't ride and Dave lives out of town so it was me ridin' solo yesterday. I enjoyed parts of the ride because it's good sometimes just to go at your pace as long as you want to but other times it was very lonely. I caught myself at times talking to myself just because I wanted someone to talk to!
There was a time when I thought, " I wonder if I could ride across the country by myself?" That thought quickly vanished when that headwind hit me square in the face and I was talking to myself and feeling lonely about 2 hours into my ride! I knew then I am going to need as much help as I can get.

Sometimes it's easier to go faster when you don't have to wait on anyone. It's definitely easier to do things by yourself, "It will be easier if I just do it", ever said that? In cycling it's different, the more people you have the faster you can go...easier. Also, you can go farther, faster with your support team. The most viewed cycling race "Tour de France", you always see breakaways at the beginning of each stage, more times than not the peloton (the big group of riders chasing down the breakaway) catches the breakaway minutes from the finish. You can sprint out by yourself, but you'll get reeled back in.

We use the word TEAMWORK alot. It's almost what you are suppose to say, but it's hard to do. When you work in a team you bring what you can bring to the table, gifts, abilities, talents, and you make the team WORK. It's easy to identify how it's not working, it's hard work making it work.

In creating a system that will allow you to be the most efficient it takes time/effort but once it starts working it's a beautiful sight! If you want to go faster...make the team WORK. If you want to go father...make it WORK. If you want to do both...WORKing as a team is a must. It might be easier at times to ride solo but to finish you need a team.

1 Corinthians 1:10

20-23I'm praying not only for them ,But also for those who will believe in me
Because of them and their witness about me. The goal is for all of them to become one heart and mind—Just as you, Father, are in me and I in you, So they might be one heart and mind with us.
Then the world might believe that you, in fact, sent me.The same glory you gave me, I gave them,
So they'll be as unified and together as we are—I in them and you in me.Then they'll be mature in this oneness, And give the godless world evidence That you've sent me and loved them
In the same way you've loved me.
