28 days...672 hours!

28....number of years it takes Saturn to orbit around the sun.

28....age at which a man usually finishes growing. ( so much for aspiring to play in the NBA..)

28....current age.

28...the day in august that my wife and I officially started dating(she just reminded me of this when she saw this post...oops!!).

One thing I've learned in life is that things don't happen by chance. They are the result of an action by someone because of planning, hard work, dedication, compassion, etc. Take this trip for instance... there's no way that things would get done if we let them come together "by chance". Sometimes I hear people say that they will "trust God" with everything. I believe the "idea" of what they are trying to say but I believe that God works through our preparation and dedication to follow His lead. If we hap-hazardly go about things there's a good chance IT WON'T HAPPEN. Then we get discouraged because we didn't see "God come through".
Take the story of the Good Samaritan... 3 opportunities for compassion and 1 person comes through. The Bible mentions that the Priest and Levite "by chance" were traveling down the road where the man was left for dead but didn't show mercy or compassion.
Mercy doesn't happen by chance.
Mercy didn't begin with chance and doesn't happen by chance, it's a direct response/action because of a heart that's compelled to love.
When things are left up to chance things won't get done. If you have a goal then begin working towards that goal. Allow God to move in your heart and life and follow His lead. There's only so much we can do as humans, but with God's direction and His compassion we can help change lives. Don't leave things up to chance. Look for opportunities to reach out.... What's your neighbor's name?
